WELCOME TO THE PERFORMANCE STAGE!LAURIE LEWIS AND TOM ROZUM
Since forming a musical partnership in 1986, when Tom first joined Laurie's acclaimed band, Grant Street, Laurie Lewis and Tom Rozum have recorded 12 albums and performed around the globe. These Grammy-nominated artists (for their 1995 album The Oak and the Laurel) are widely regarded as among the leading lights of modern bluegrass and are highly-prized by their peers as sidemen and producers. International Bluegrass Music Association executive director Dan Hays calls Laurie "one of the preeminent bluegrass and Americana artists of our time." Acclaimed musician Sam Bush puts it more simply, calling her "a great singer, terrific fiddle player, fine songwriter, and one very good band leader." Laurie also performed on both the Grammy-award winning, 1997 IBMA album of the year True Life Blues: The Songs of Bill Monroe, and the Grammy-nominated Ralph Stanley & Friends' release Clinch Mountain Country.

In 2004, Lewis & Rozum released their third duo album, Guest House (their first for HighTone Records), a characteristically versatile and engaging offering of love songs, laments, social commentary, and freewheelin' fun in the spirit of old-time music. Laurie and Tom pay homage to such eminent influences as Woody Guthrie, Hazel Dickens, Grandpa Jones, and the inimitable Bill Monroe, adding their own distinctive touches to traditional favorites as well as performing several of Laurie's nonpareil compositions.
Laurie and Tom are available for master classes and workshops in fiddle, mandolin, songwriting and vocal arrangements.

WILD ASPARAGUSDance Music From New England
Wild Asparagus is a five person band from Western Massachusetts. Drawing upon music from New England, the British Isles, and Canada, as well as classical sources, Wild Asparagus takes an original approach to the traditional dance music of our folk heritage. Using their unique blend of instruments, creativity, and skills, they offer a sensitive and powerful performance. Since 1984, Wild Asparagus has been highly successful in bringing their music to dances and concerts throughout the United States.

Wild Asparagus is Ann Percival on piano, guitar, and vocals. Ann’s playing is highly inventive while still maintaining an irresistible rhythm. David Cantieni, a woodwind wizard, pours forth lively melodies and liquid harmonies on his flutes, tin-whistle, oboe, saxophone and bombard. George Marshall is an accomplished English concertina player and also provides driving rhythms on bodhran and bones. Harry Aceto on bass is a dynamo of musical energy. Becky Tracy’s masterful fiddling is that rare combination of energy and beauty. George also provides excellent instruction and calling for New England style contras.
Ani deFranco summed it up well when she said of Wild Asparagus, "you'se guys kick butt!"
LITTLE BLACK TRAINWhat do you get when you mash up a virtuosic bluegrass mandolinist, a traditional Irish fiddler, and an old-timey songster? Kenny Blackwell (mandolin and guitar), John Weed (fiddle), and Stuart Mason (guitar, banjo, and mandola) are the bluegrass-roots trio Little Black Train. From Depression-era gospel and blues to Appalachian and Celtic dance tunes, they dig up the roots of bluegrass that traveled to America from Ireland and Scotland in the 19th century. Avid practitioners of the time-honored folk process, these boys combine new words and melodies with traditional songs from sources such as the Carter Family, Doc Boggs, and Charlie Poole. On the instrumental side, they mine fiddle tunes from archival sources in West Virginia, Ireland, and Scotland.

"Each of these three is amazingly accomplished, but something magical happens when they play together, their instruments swirling around one another like curls of smoke from a smoldering fire. This is old-time music at its most riveting!" --Glen Starkey, New Times SLO
